State Microbiome Policy Survey -Clinicians experience with Probiotics, FMT and other microbiome-based therapeutics
Warm greetings from the Centre of Excellence in Microbiome (CoEM). The Centre of Excellence in Microbiome (CoEM)- KSCSTE, has initiated the drafting of a comprehensive State Microbiome Policy. The policy aims to promote the safe, effective, and scientifically validated use of microbial products and technologies across human health, agriculture, aquaculture, livestock, poultry, food systems, environmental management, and other sectors, while addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and advancing the One Health approach. As part of this initiative, CoEM seeks expert opinions on the use of probiotics and other microbiome-based interventions in the healthcare sector. As part of this initiative, we seek expert opinions from Clinicians who prescribe or have clinical experience with probiotics, Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) and other microbiome-based therapeutics. Their valuable insights on current clinical practices, scientific evidence, challenges, regulatory considerations, research gaps, and future priorities will help in developing a scientifically robust and clinically relevant State Microbiome Policy.
